Jobber vs Housecall Pro

Jobber vs Housecall Pro for a small team

Two widely used suites for home-service businesses, compared plan by plan for a shop with a few trucks.

Prices checked on vendor sites 16–17 Sep 2026

Both are full back-office suites with quotes, invoicing, payments, online booking and phone apps on every plan. The differences show up in which plan unlocks GPS, routing and customer texts, and what that plan costs for a small team. We make Navigrate, a different kind of tool, so neither of these is ours.

The short answer

Jobber may fit better if…
  • You want Xero sync (from Connect)
  • You want automated client reminders and on-the-way texts on the same plan as GPS and routing (Connect)
  • You want a choice of monthly, 1-year or annual billing
Housecall Pro may fit better if…
  • You run residential service and want review management on every plan
  • You want one-click route optimization using real drive time and live traffic (MAX)
  • You want routes and GPS a little cheaper for a small team (Essentials, $189)

What a 3-person team pays

For a 3-person team that wants GPS and routing, billed monthly: Jobber Connect is $199 a month (5 users). Housecall Pro Essentials is $189 a month (5 users, routes and GPS), and one-click route optimization means MAX at $329.

Without routing: Housecall Pro Basic is $79 but covers 1 user. Jobber's Core plan is for 1 user only, so a 2–5 person team starts at Connect.

A third option

If you mainly need the schedule and a check on long drives, and already handle quotes and invoices elsewhere, Navigrate is a third option at $29 a month for 3 technicians. It doesn't do quotes, invoicing, payments, texts, GPS or route optimization, so it isn't a replacement for either suite. See Navigrate vs Jobber and Navigrate vs Housecall Pro, or all comparisons.

Common questions

Which is cheaper for a small team, Jobber or Housecall Pro?
It depends on the plan you need. With GPS and routing, Housecall Pro Essentials ($189 a month, 5 users) is $10 less than Jobber Connect ($199, 5 users) billed monthly. For one-click route optimization, Housecall Pro MAX is $329. Billed yearly, Jobber Connect and Housecall Pro Essentials are both $149 a month.
Which has better route optimization?
They work differently. Jobber (Connect and up) optimizes routes for anytime visits, up to 7 days at a time. Housecall Pro's Essentials plan sequences jobs into routes, and MAX reorders jobs in one click using real drive time and live traffic. Try both on your own schedule during the free trials.
Do Jobber and Housecall Pro have free trials?
Yes. Jobber offers 14 days on its Grow plan and Housecall Pro offers 14 days on MAX, both without a card.
Where does Navigrate fit?
Navigrate is a dispatch board, not a suite. It checks the drive for each booking as you make it and costs $29 a month for 3 technicians, but it doesn't do quotes, invoicing, payments, texts, GPS or route optimization.
How were these facts checked?
On Jobber's and Housecall Pro's own pricing pages and help centers on 16 and 17 Sep 2026, using US dollar prices. Prices and features change, so confirm on each vendor's site before you decide.
